Dinner with Rowdy Friends

Dinner with Rowdy Friends

I adore anyone I call friend. Different people gravitate toward different energies. Respect and honesty are at the top of my check off list. Funny and loud apparently are also at the top of the list.

I think it’s safe to say 90% of my friend are clowns, just like me. Life is hard. I want people that want to hug and laugh it out together. We’ve shown each other support in rough times and laughed at the craziness that life throws at all of us. These are the type of people I hold dear. Beams of light in a dark room with no windows.

These people help motivate me to stay the course. To keep getting up everyday and to be a more respectful, peaceful, adventurous, fun version of who I was yesterday. I hope you have these types of friends too. They make the world better just by being them.

Our gang doesn’t get together as much as I’d like. Which forces me to appreciate the precious time we do have. If you’re struggling who are your people? Who can you call and talk it out with? Send a long winded email venting about what’s going on and ending with a corny joke? Text for advice? These are the people to reach out to when you need an ear and a little compassion. These people are worth their weight in gold, and ten times that when the road gets a little rocky. My advice (that you again, didn’t ask for) is surround yourself with these people during the good times to help bounce you back up when you’re feeling low. I truly believe energy attracts energy. Be the type of person you want to be friends with. Everyday, every single moment of our lives is a decision. Each decision is an opportunity to improve. Sounds exhausting I know. But who says you have to take every single opportunity and every high road? No one is perfect, no matter what they say. We all screw up. It’s literally called “human error”. There’s only a million quotes about it from some pretty intelligent people. Taking a moment to realize I choose where to place my feet as I walk through life is empowering.

Last night my gang was rowdy, loud, and full of laughter, so the usual. We sat for hours after the food was gone. An employee actually pulled out a mop to indicate they were closing. We may rarely be together, but they are constantly on my mind and my heart. I can’t wait to meet up again and flood the next place with laughter and love. I wish you boat loads of the same friends!

Life ~ It Happens

I quit my full time job almost a year ago. I STILL don’t regret it. I thought long and hard about my decision and decided family, fun, and mental health would be my priorities. One of the best decisions of my life. The last few weeks, as spring has started to emerge, I’m reflective and…
