This phrase has been on my mind for months. Like a persistent earworm. Repeating. Then earlier this month. Now it seems to shout. So I couldn’t help myself while painting the other day. Was tempted to leave it, but thought I’d just let it live on the internet.
Peaceful protest has been such a huge part of American history, and I truly hope it always will be. Poking around I found the Good Trouble Lives On website. John Lewis continues to strive for peaceful equality. A worthy, life-long mission in my opinion.
Then add to the mix the Walk for Peace Monks & their journey from Texas to DC, and the attention their message is receiving. I hope this is the message of the year for 2026. All of us could use some more “peace” in our lives. Whether it’s peace and quiet for an afternoon, or even temporary peace in a war zone.
